# Survey Launch Checklist

Use this checklist before you publish any survey, form, or feedback campaign on Sierratec Survey. Work through each section in order - later steps assume the earlier ones are settled.

## 1. Objective and audience

- [ ] The survey has one clear objective, written in a single sentence
- [ ] You've defined the target population and how you'll reach it (email list, public link, QR code, embed)
- [ ] You know the minimum number of completed responses you need (use the Sample Size Calculator under Survey Tools if this is a research study)
- [ ] Duplicate or overlapping surveys already running to the same audience have been checked for

## 2. Content and question design

- [ ] Every question maps back to something you'll actually act on - cut anything "nice to know"
- [ ] Question wording is neutral (no leading or double-barreled questions)
- [ ] Required questions are marked deliberately, not left as default
- [ ] Answer options are mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive (add "Other" or "N/A" where needed)
- [ ] Skip logic has been tested for every branch, not just the default path
- [ ] The survey has been previewed end-to-end on both desktop and mobile

## 3. Privacy and consent

- [ ] You are only collecting the data you need for the stated objective
- [ ] A consent or privacy statement is shown before any sensitive question, if applicable
- [ ] The survey is marked Private with a password if it should not be publicly discoverable
- [ ] Response retention and export access have been reviewed with your data owner

## 4. Branding and accessibility

- [ ] Logo, brand colors, and thank-you message are set (Business plans and above)
- [ ] Text has sufficient color contrast against your brand background
- [ ] The survey can be completed using a keyboard alone
- [ ] Any images or icons that carry meaning have alt text or an accompanying label

## 5. Distribution

- [ ] The correct collector type is selected (public link, email invitation, embed, QR code)
- [ ] Email invitation subject line and sender name are set and tested with a preview send
- [ ] A scheduled open/close date is set if the survey should not run indefinitely
- [ ] If using field collectors, each collector is labeled so response source is traceable later

## 6. Monitoring after launch

- [ ] You know who is responsible for watching the response count and completion rate
- [ ] Alert thresholds are set if you're on a plan with usage alerts
- [ ] A rough date is set for pulling a first analysis (don't wait for full close to peek)
- [ ] The export format you'll need at close (CSV, Excel, PDF, JSON) is decided in advance
