The COBIT 5 Foundation exam is conducted both in paper based as well as web-based format. The candidates are required to solve 50 multiple choice questions within 40 minutes. For being successfully certified, a candidate needs to score at least 25 marks in the exam. The exam is currently conducted only in the English language.

Anyone can apply for COBIT 5 Foundation certification as there are no formal prerequisites. Though, having prior experience in IT governance is highly recommended.
